Description

Second Known San Diego and Phoenix Railroad Co. Share

San Diego, CA- San Diego and Phoenix Railroad Co. November 1, 1893 One Share
Just the second example for this type that we are aware of. Machine serial number 4365 is printed on this note which has the engraved signatures of Dixon and Carlson on the face and the pen signature of Carlson acting as Trustee on the back. An image of Tom Scott known as "The Father of the Texas & Pacific Route" is seen at left. This was a time of widespread panic, and this lovely fiscal document serves as a memento of this period and is of interest to both collectors of California and Arizona history alike. Grading Very Fine+, this piece printed on bond paper has a few edge nicks present. The last example we know of that sold at auction realized $3450.
