Description

New Jersey March 25, 1776 £6 PCGS Extremely Fine 40.
A beautiful, lightly circulated example of this extremely popular tricolor issue. The face centering is more than adequate and the back centering is perfect. David Rittenhouse, who was to become the first Director of the United States Mint in 1792, did some of the engraving work for the plate of this £6 note. His name is worked into the red border design in extremely small letters that on this example can be clearly seen. This is number 54 out of an original printing of only 3,125.
