Jacksonville, FL - $5 1902 Plain Back Fr. 602 The Heard NB Ch. # (S)10136 Uncut Sheet
This is one of three uncut sheets known from this short lived private name bank, which was in business for less than five years before closing in 1917. All three of the sheets came out about twenty five years ago in a Christie's auction, which featured a selection of low number Atlanta district Federal Reserve Bank Notes along with the three sheets. The signer of the three sheets, J.B. Pike, who signed as Vice President, later served as the Cashier of the Atlanta Federal Reserve Bank, where his signature appeared again on Atlanta Federal Reserve Bank Notes. One of the three sheets is in the hands of a prominent Ohio dealer-collector, a second was re-sold in 2000 and is now off the market, and the third is now available to collectors after an absence of two and a half decades. PMG has graded this most attractive sheet About Uncirculated 50, and we see no reason whatsoever to disagree, especially as this pen signed sheet comes with its full top and bottom selvage.
