Description
Columbia, SC- S.C. & J.C. Chambers "500" Advertising Note ND (ca. 1840s-50s) Vlack 4265 PMG Good 6.The Chambers family was in the dry goods business in Columbia circa the 1850s based on the style of the note and its printer, Doty & Bergen. The note has a few missing pieces and edge roughness consistent with the grade. This example served as the plate note in Vlack's advertising note catalog. Period advertising notes from the South are scarcer than their northern counterparts.
