Vicksburg, MS- Bank of Vicksburg $50 Post Note 18__ G28 Kraus 4431p Leggett 5 Proof PMG Choice About Unc 58 EPQ.Printed by W.E. Tucker, this appealing $50 Post Note Proof depicts sailing vessels at either end and an allegorical female seated by cotton bales and holding a stone tablet at center. In the background of this central vignette is an antebellum steamboat and a sailing ship. We have not offered this denomination in Proof form prior to now, and this representative, along with the Haxby Plate Note, likely comprise the surviving population of notes of this design in Proof form. Printed on fully original India paper with six punch cancellations in the signature lines, this note has achieved PMG's EPQ designation.
