Pennsylvania April 20, 1781 20s PMG About Uncirculated 53.A very rare Pennsylvania colonial in the higher grades is offered here. PMG has graded just two pieces finer than this example. There are numerous examples of the lower denominations available, but that is not the case for the handful of higher denominations. A well centered AU, this piece has both signatures of Phillip Boehm and John Miller remaining legible. This note fell just short of the $1,000 mark when we first sold it in 2009 as part of the massive and underappreciated Midnight Ride Collection. PMG mentions a tear.
