Description

El Dorado, AR- W.E. Morgan $1 ND (ca. 1862-63) Rothert 165-4 PMG Fine 12.
Morgan served as the county and circuit clerk for Union County during most of the Civil War and it appears that he was not engaged in any other businesses at the time. The note was redeemable in a number of different types of currency including Arkansas War Bonds, Treasury Notes, Confederate Treasury Notes, or "other current funds." The note is fully issued with some splits and body holes and is repair-free.
