Description

Continental Currency May 10, 1775 $30 PMG Very Fine 30.
The $30 denomination was the largest issued from the May 10, 1775 emission. A total of 33,333 $30s were authorized for issue. The design incorporates an emblem on the face depicting a wreath on a tomb with the motto SI RECTE FACIES (If you act righteously you will be honored after death) and two emblems on the back; one shows a strong wind creating waves with the motto VI CONCITATE (Driven by force) while the second depicts the sun shining on ships in a calm sea with the motto CESSANTE VENTO CONQUIESCEMUS (When the storm dies down we will rest). A beautiful note with good margins and bold signatures.
