Description
Waynesburg, PA- Farmers & Drovers Bank of Waynesburg $5 18__ G6 Proof PMG Choice Uncirculated 63.The bank was incorporated in 1835 and remained in business until it was succeeded by the Farmers and Drovers National Bank of Waynesburg which was chartered on .February 25, 1865. The $5 design features a vignette of a farm couple under a tree watching harvesters in the distance. This is flanked by two oval cameo-like helmeted medallion heads. Identical end panels each depict a herd of cattle. The note is printed on India paper with an apparent small impairment in the lower left margin. Four examples of this note were hidden away in Lot 2038 (Virginia section) of the 1990 ABNCo Archives sale.
