Description

Pennsylvania July 20, 1775 20s PCGS Very Fine 25.
All three signatures remain clearly visible on this moderately circulated Resolve Money example displaying plate letter B. These notes were issued in reaction to the Battle of Lexington. As stated by Henry Phillips, "The mere issuing of these bills was an act of rebellion, as they were emitted by the mere resolve of the assembly in defiance of their charter, and without reference to the governor." However, the notes still included this text: "His Majesty, King George the Third."
