Description
Military Endorsement "H.A. Gilpin Capt. & AQM" T41 $100 1862 PF-25 Cr. 318A PMG Very Fine 30.This note is darkly printed with dark black and red-orange colors evident. The HUNDRED protector is quite bold with no signs of oxidation. The back has a large black IP stamp, usually associated with the Trans-Mississippi Department paying interest to January 1, 1864, as well as the self-explanatory manuscript endorsement: Issued Corpus Christi / Texas April 25, 1863 / H.A. Gilpin / Capt. & AQM / CSAPA. Gilpin was serving in these positions under command of Brigadier General H.P. Bee at the time this note was issued. PMG mentions some staple holes that are of no practical consequence.
