Description
Frankfort, KY- Farmers Bank of Kentucky $20 Oct. 3, 1860 G228a PMG Gem Uncirculated 66 EPQ.The $20 layout represented on this note features portraits of Governor of Kentucky John J. Crittenden, who served in this role from 1848-50, and his wife at left, a beehive symbolizing Industry at lower center, and a farmer with his horses plowing the fields at upper right. Denominational die counters on the face, an orange "TWENTY" overprint, and an intricate, bright orange back complete the design. Printed on entirely original paper with a full, even frame, this example is certainly one of the nicest pieces for the design and denomination that we have had the privilege of auctioning.
