Description

Giori Press Jefferson Test Note circa 1950s RGJ7/4NSU PMG Choice Uncirculated 63.
Much scarcer type with Jefferson at center. Printed in mud-brown ink on the front; black on the back. No watermark. No serial number. The PMG label has an incorrect date for this Jefferson at center Giori as they were printed in West Germany during the 1950s. Gioris with George Washington at center were printed in the 1970s on a press that was constructed by the American Can Company in Geneva, New York and shipped to Washington, DC. Testing was performed at the BEP where "nonsense plates" (various design features from different notes) were used on the new press. This press never saw service beyond the testing stage. PMG notes "Minor stains."
