Charleston, SC- Bank of the State of South Carolina $100 Aug. 3, 1861 G72b Sheheen 605 PMG Very Fine 30.The Bank of the State of South Carolina was chartered on December 19, 1812, and it remained open until 1868. The state of South Carolina operated this firm for the entirety of its existence. Branches were located in Abbeville, Camden, Columbia, and Georgetown, with the principal location being Charleston. This moderately circulated high denomination example has been cross-cut cancelled and has an internal tear.
