Philadelphia, PA- Loan Committee of the Philadelphia Banks $5,000 Jan. 11, 1865 PMG Very Fine 30 Net.A neat Civil War document from the Loan Committee which served as the clearing house for all of the major Philadelphia banking houses during the Civil War. This $5,000 certificate was payable to the Girard Bank. It has been pen cancelled with ink burn and toning to its paper. A Revenue stamp has also been affixed to the face.
