Philadelphia, PA- Loan Committee of the Philadelphia Banks $5,000 Jan. 11, 1865 PMG Very Fine 30 Net.
A neat Civil War document from the Loan Committee which served as the clearing house for all of the major Philadelphia banking houses during the Civil War. This $5,000 certificate was payable to the Girard Bank. It has been pen cancelled with ink burn and toning to its paper. A Revenue stamp has also been affixed to the face.
