Massachusetts October 16, 1778 3s PCGS Banknote Choice Unc 64.Signed by Thomas Dawes. Beautifully balanced centering and wonderfully printed. This note is from the second date and back style for the Revere "Codfish" bills. The October 16, 1778 notes with the Thomas Fleet backs are sometimes encountered in choice condition like this and were once part of cut-off notes from leftover three note strips. This is a choice example with ample face margins and strong printing. The pine tree details are bold and well defined on the back-ideal for the series and type. The last example that we sold was a PMG Choice Unc 64 EPQ that realized $2,400 earlier this year.
