Franklin, PA- Treasurer of Venango County $3 Apr. 1864 About Good;Columbia, PA- Detwiler & Bro. Bankers 5¢; 10¢ Nov. 20, 1862 Very Good; Very Good-Fine.
The Venango County $3 has some major tears and fold separations as well as edge damage.
Solomon and Daniel H. Detwiler operated a private bank from its creation in 1860 until 1864 when the bank became the First National Bank of Columbia (Charter 371). Solomon served as the bank's Cashier from 1864 to 1897 and Daniel served as the bank's President from around 1907-1914. Both fractional notes are signed by Solomon Detwiler and validated on the back with a round blue D and BRO stamp. (Total: 3 notes)
