Description

Rarely Seen Highest Denomination from 1895 Series

Spain Banco de Espana 1000 Pesetas 1.5.1895 Pick 45 PCGS Currency Extremely Fine 45.
Pleasing designs are seen on both sides of this large format, highest denomination note from 1895. Count Francois Cabarrus is seen at front, and King Carlos III's portrait is on the back. Lightly circulated paper adds to the visual appeal. The wide counterfoil at left has a watermark "1000" inserted vertically. Most of these notes were redeemed a century ago, leaving few extant. A beautiful high denomination rarity worthy of consideration.
