Description

Spain Banco de Espana 20 Escudos 1.1.1866 Pick UNL Remainder PCGS Very Choice New 64.
A nice high grade example of the 20 Escudos from this mid 1800s short series. Curiously, the Bank of Spain issued a plethora of banknote series from 1856 to 1873, with all being withdrawn by the inception of the First Republic. Third party grading company mentions residue on face and a tiny pinhole, but that does not negate that any surviving note from this era is extremely scarce. Please note, this remainder is misattributed on the PCGS holder as a Specimen.
