Argentina Republic Argentina 1000 Pesos 1.1.1895 Face and Back Proofs Pick 227p.The last of this wonderful group of Argentinian proofs and a representative of the highest denomination. It features black inks over an attractive red underprint. A portrait of San Martin is pictured at right, with a seated woman and child at left. A pair of lovely proofs representing an ever popular type. Perforated cancelled. Both pieces have been graded Choice About New 58 by PCGS. These are the only examples of these rare proofs to ever appear in one of our auctions.
