Description

Saudi Arabia Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency 10 Riyals ND (1953) / AH1372 Pick 1 PCGS Banknote About Unc 50 PPQ.
The first paper note issued in Saudi Arabia. Initially, this note was a Haj Pilgrim Receipt for Muslims traveling to Saudi Arabia from abroad, but it was soon accepted by locals as well for payments of most kinds. Standard notes from the Monetary Authority were finally issued in 1961, which either limited or suspended the use of this early type. Only brief circulation atop completely original paper is seen on this example. Better than typical and a rare type in high grade.
