Charming Fr. 46 Legal Tender Deuce
Fr. 46 $2 1875 Legal Tender PMG Choice Uncirculated 64
EPQ.Only 43 examples of Fr. 46 are listed in Track & Price making it easily one of the toughest Friedberg numbers to pursue. The charming Series B note in this lot hails from plate letter B. We have auctioned this $2 Legal twice before. The first time was in October 1995 before third party grading took hold. We described this deuce then as a "strictly original beauty." The second time was in April 2012 and our description read in part, "This is a bright and strongly printed specimen with enough eye appeal to satisfy even the most discriminating of observers." Both of our remarks still hold true today. The last PMG 64 EPQ Fr. 46 that we auctioned is separated by four serial numbers from our current offering. It realized $5,760 in October 2022. One can look forward to our latest offering being in the same ballpark, if not higher.
