Highest denomination of the 1851 series of banknotes designed for and/or issued by the Oriental Bank Corporation. This denomination was an incredible amount of money at the time, and it is unknown if any examples were issued or if this is the only relic of the type. Interestingly, the Straits Settlements were created in 1826, but remained administered by the East India Company, Bengal, until 1867. Its capital was Singapore from 1832 until 1946.
