Description

Lightly Circulated San Francisco Red Seal $100 FRN

Fr. 1083b $100 1914 Red Seal Federal Reserve Note PMG Extremely Fine 40.
This charming note began its recorded numismatic journey on a dealer's 1983 fixed price list. Our examination finds a $100 Red Seal that definitely has the appearance of a higher grade. The colors are wonderful, the centering excellent, and the eye appeal is that of a Choice Uncirculated note. Track & Price reports 25 known examples, which has increased by only one serial number since we originally auctioned the note in this lot in September 2014. The last Fr. 1083b that we auctioned above the grade of Fine was a PMG 65 EPQ example that brought $40,800 in September 2024. Our current offering should satisfy the collector who is looking to get the most bang for their bucks.
