Fr. 56 $2 1880 Legal Tender PMG Gem Uncirculated 66 EPQ.Natural paper wave rolls across both sides of this $2 Legal with dark inks and white paper. It is now appearing at auction for the very first time. This example comes from a run of high-grade notes that has supplied many collectors over the years. PMG has graded only three examples higher, while PCGS Banknote has not graded a single example higher. Our best comparison for estimation purposes is when we auctioned a PCGS Banknote 66 PPQ Fr. 56 for $2,640 in April 2021.
