Fr. 96 $10 1869 Legal Tender PCGS Banknote Choice Unc
63.The Rainbow $10 is a one Friedberg number design that sports blue, green, and red ink on the face. We have no record of the note in this lot appearing at auction since the year 2000. The serial number is H8360614*, where the "*" is a solid star printer's embellishment mark to signify the end of the serial and not a hollow star to designate a replacement note. The hollow star for replacement notes was first used much later in 1910. Our current offering is nicely margined and resides in a comment-free holder. The last Fr. 96 in the third party grade of 63 without any comments was auctioned for $4,800 in 2021.
