Fr. 61a $5 1862 Legal Tender PCGS Gem New 66PPQ.Issued over 160 years ago, this simply remarkable $5 Legal Tender has defied the odds by remaining in such pristine condition. PCGS has assigned a well deserved grade of Gem New 66PPQ, and upon first glance this note appears that it could have graded even higher. The colors found throughout are as bright and vibrant as ever, making this early $5 Legal a prime candidate for any collection. Just last January, we auctioned an equivalently graded PMG example for $10,800.
