Scarce Lyons-Treat $100 Gold Certificate
Fr. 1207 $100 1882 Gold Certificate PMG Very Fine 25.A rare and underrated number, this Fr. 1207 is listed among only 24 others in Track & Price. Five of those are held by either the Smithsonian or the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco. That means that quintet is permanently off the market, leaving a much smaller number that is truly available for collectors. Also, Friedberg 1207 is the number with the lowest population according to Track & Price for the numbers of 1206 through 1215 for $100 Golds. This is a well printed, moderately circulated example with just a few inconsequential pinholes.
