World War II $1 North Africa Uncut Sheet

Fr. 2306 $1 1935A North Africa Silver Certificates. Uncut Sheet of Twelve. PCGS Very Choice New 64PPQ.
The F-C block was used not only for $1 Hawaii uncut sheets, but also for $1 North Africa uncut sheets. The sheet in this lot has serial numbers 41952013-18 in the left column and 41954011-16 in the right column. For both $1 North Africa and Hawaii Silver Certificates uncut sheets were printed with each column of six having consecutive serial numbers, but all twelve notes on a sheet are not consecutive. The North Africa issue was printed at the request of the War Department for use by American troops in North Africa. Later, they would be used during the advancement in the Mediterranean Theatre. After V-E Day, the yellow seal notes were paid to soldiers who were shipped from Europe to the Pacific Theatre. This example has been nicely preserved and presents itself well.
