Description
Exceptional Color & Eye Appeal Richmond $5,000
Fr. 2221-E $5,000 1934 Federal Reserve Note. PMG Very Fine
25.Serial number E00000170A is the highest serial number of the 13 valid serial numbers listed in Track & Price for Fr. 2221-E. Of those 13 serial numbers, five have negative comments on their third party labels and only two have earned the EPQ or PPQ grade modifiers. In fact, the example in this lot has the lowest grade of the 13 enumerated in T&P. However, it is one of the nicest PMG VF 25 notes you will ever see. PMG recognized this and they have added on to the back label the rarely earned positive comment of, "Exceptional Color & Eye Appeal" and we are in complete agreement. This note has appeared at auction only once previously, and it realized $164,500 at our January 2015 FUN auction. Overall, it is an excellent mid-grade $5,000 Richmond note that is very presentable and sure to delight its next owner.
