Rare Fr. 274* Chief Star
Fr. 274* $5 1899 Silver Certificate Star PMG Very Fine
20.A moderately circulated yet still attractive example of this very scarce Chief star that is one of less than a dozen replacement notes recorded for this Friedberg number. According to extensive research conducted by Doug Murray, this is also the first signature combination for the Chief design for which stars were produced way back in the Summer of 1910. This example does have some repairs, but faces up very nicely for its assigned grade.
