Fr. 23 $1 1875 Series C Legal Tender PMG Very Fine 30.An ace that has been a part of our consignor's collection for a long time , this piece is only now making its first recorded auction appearance. Track & Price has documented 45 other serial numbers for Fr. 23. This plate letter C Series C example has a partial "14" plate number in the bottom margin at center. Minor restoration has been expertly performed on the edges of this $1 and can be seen only when the note is backlit.
