Fr. 309 $20 1880 Silver Certificate PMG Very Fine 20.A highly sought after type that featured a black back, with the word SILVER spelled out ornately. One of just 60 examples in the latest census for this Friedberg number, this moderately circulated $20 Silver faces up quite nicely for its assigned grade with just a few minor edge splits and some minor teller stamp. In our 2020 Central States auction, we sold another PMG Very Fine 20 example with the same minor flaws for $3,960.
