15.Large size Nationals with inverted backs are many times rarer than inverted back small size Nationals. It must be pointed out that double denomination inverted back large size Nationals are categorized as double denominations. The fourth edition of the Kelly reference lists only three banks with large size inverted back Nationals, and that figure does not include charter number 4605 in this lot. The second edition of the Sullivan error reference on page 129 does list the error note in this lot, but that tome does not list any other known inverted backs for charter number 4605. The backs are printed first, and if the sheet gets turned around 180 degrees for the face or second printing, an inverted back error is created. A hiccup in quality control created this charming inverted back for the collectors of today. A minor repair is mentioned.
