Description

Pawtucket, RI - $10 1882 Brown Back Fr. 480 The Slater National Bank Ch. # 856 PMG Extremely Fine 40.
A quite attractive example of this tougher Rhode Island bank's scarce second title, and one of only six pieces in the census. This bank started out in North Providence in 1865, relocated to Pawtucket in 1885, and then closed its doors in 1900. Tonight's lot bears the earlier Brown Back overprint with the vertical charter number, and also features well centered margins, bold ink colors, and vivid officers' signatures in black ink.
