Fr. 126a $20 1863 Legal Tender PCGS Apparent Very Fine
30.The Fr. 126a is characterized as being from series 18-20 and having just one serial number on the upper right-hand side of the face. The example we are offering this evening is one of just fourteen pieces listed in the census for this rare Friedberg number. It displays vivid, pronounced colors and evenly circulated paper with minor edge restorations along the bottom margin. Despite its minor flaws, it is the finest graded example of the known notes. In its last auction appearance in 2014, this note realized $12,650.
