Providence, RI - $50 1902 Red Seal Fr. 664 The Providence
National Bank Ch. # (N)1302 PMG Very Fine 30.Serial number 4435-A in this lot is one of only eight $50 Red Seals to be reported on both charter number 1302 and also from all Rhode Island banks combined. This rare type and denomination was only issued by two banks in the state, The Providence NB and the Mechanics NB of Providence, charter number 1007. In fact, not a single Red Seal of any denomination is known on The Mechanics NB. The charter number 1302 $50 Red Seal in this lot is just one of 109 $50 Red Seals in the National Currency Foundation Census for all national banks in the entire country. Fortunately for collectors, our current offering is an attractive mid-grade note with problem-free circulation as it features bold ink colors and dark printed officer signatures.
