Description

Fall River, MA - $10 1882 Brown Back Fr. 480 The Massasoit National Bank Ch. # 612 PMG Very Good 8.
One of the rarest of Fall River's eight national banks, having issued only First and Second Charter notes before liquidating in 1903. The bank was named for the Native American leader who formed an alliance with the Plymouth Colony. Prior to this evening, just three notes were reported from this charter, none of which have been publicly offered since 2006. New to the census, this $10 is well circulated but maintains decent color and signatures and provides an opportunity for a Bay State collector to finally acquire this tough charter.
