Description

Unique McLoud Small Size - First Public Offering

McLoud, OK - $10 1929 Ty. 1 The First National Bank Ch. # 6660 PMG Very Fine 25.
This incredible Oklahoma rarity hails a Pottawatomie County bank and is being publicly offered for the first time. It is from the only bank to issue in this obscure location (population 600 in 1910), an institution that maintained a minuscule circulation of just $7,000 from its opening in 1903 until its failure in 1932. This offering is the lone small size reported from this rare charter (along with a solitary large) and it is the first note of any kind from here to cross the auction block. Fortunately for collectors, it is a pleasing, evenly circulated $10 with ample margins and solid paper for the grade. This is a great note for any Sooner State collector.
