Description

Unique in Small Size

Wilson, NC - $20 1929 Ty. 1 The First National Bank Ch. # 2321 PMG Very Fine 25.
This great North Carolina rarity first publicly appeared in our 2006 Central States auction where we said, "About as rare as any small size North Carolina note could be, as this is the only small size note reported to date from this bank." According to the latest compilation in the National Currency Foundation census, it is still unique today and, since the bank liquidated during the Great Depression in September of 1932, it is quite likely to remain very rare. This $20 is evenly circulated with, per PMG, some rust repairs that are not readily apparent.
