Sherburne, NY - $10 1882 Brown Back Fr. 481 The Sherburne National Bank Ch. # (E)1166 PCGS Extremely Fine 40.From the Chenango County Collection comes this most attractive $10 Brown Back from the sole bank to operate in this small community. It is one of four such pieces reported, two of which are very low grade. That is not the case here, as this pen signed beauty has the appearance of a note much higher than its assigned grade. In fact, John Hickman called this note CU in his April 1978 sale and even pictured the note in the catalog, a privilege reserved in those days for only the most special of notes. The folds are very light on this beautiful Chenango County note.
