High Grade Guttenberg, New Jersey $10 Red Seal
Guttenberg, NJ - $10 1902 Red Seal Fr. 615 The First National
Bank Ch. # (E)8390 PCGS Very Choice New 64.This is a truly lovely Red Seal from this large-only Hudson County bank that we had the privilege of offering in our inaugural auction in November of 1990. It is a pen-signed beauty with bright, white paper and a bold red overprint that appears to have been applied this morning. We later offered this pretty note in our auction of The Tom Flynn Collection in 2008 where it fetched a very strong $12,650. We certainly do not expect that realization tonight, but considering it is just as beautiful today as when we first laid eyes upon it 35 years ago, it should still generate plenty of bidding interest.
