Description

Walton, NY - $10 1882 Date Back Fr. 539 The First National Bank Ch. # (E)4495 PMG Extremely Fine 40.
This piece comes from a run of three consecutive serial number $10 1882 Date Backs, all of which have been graded in the past as Uncirculated or About Uncirculated. The three are the only 1882 Date Backs reported from this one issuer Delaware County location. This piece certainly appears far higher grade than its PMG designation, as the paper is bright, the inks vivid, and the signatures clear and bold. Dick purchased this note as lot 463 in Bill Donlon's April 5, 1973 mail bid sale, where it was described by Bill who noted "Faint folds but crisp, bright like New." We think you will agree,
