Andes, NY - $5 Original Fr. 394 The First National Bank Ch. #
302 PCGS Very Fine 25.A great New York note from an excessively rare bank which issued First Charters and Brown Backs only before liquidating in 1896. This is one of only two notes known from the bank, with the other having been off the market since its only public appearance back in 1997. Discovered in 2003, we have offered this example a few times over the years, and on each occasion, it fetched at least a high four-figure price. We know the New York market has changed, but this piece is rare and pretty enough to still command a solid four-figure realization.
