Moose Lake, MN - $10 1902 Plain Back Fr. 635 The First National
Bank Ch. # 12947 PMG Choice Fine 15.A great Minnesota rarity, this is the sole reported large size note from this Carlton County location's sole issuer. Bearing one of the greatest town names to be found on a Minnesota National, this bank opened its doors in 1926, when the population of Moose Lake was all of 500 souls, and it maintained a mere $25,000 in circulation. At the end of the note issuing era in 1935, it had just $740 outstanding in large size. It has seen its share of circulation, but retains solid paper for the grade with pleasing color and bold signatures, one signed and one stamped. This is a wonderful note that will surely generate serious bidding interest from the many Minnesota collectors.
