Fairfield, ME - $20 1902 Date Back Fr. 649 The National Bank of
Fairfield Ch. # (N)4973 PMG Fine 12.Last year, we were able to offer one of just two notes reported from this excessively rare Fairfield bank that closed its doors in 1919. Tonight, we are privileged to offer the other known example from this short-lived charter. Fairfield is one of the toughest locations in the state from which to obtain a National Bank Note as the other issuer in town is still unreported. This Date Back has seen its share of circulation, but maintains decent color and bold pen signatures.
