Spectacular Delta, PA $100 Brown Back

Delta, PA - $100 1882 Brown Back Fr. 524 The First National Bank Ch. # 4205 PMG Extremely Fine 40.
One of the highlights of tonight's sale, this is an absolutely lovely $100 Brown Back from this avidly collected York County bank. Delta is a borough in York County, PA. While its population has never
exceeded 1,000, it was, surprisingly, home to four note-issuing national banks. When this note was issued, Delta's quarries produced world class slate and marble. This jewel has it all, cut, clarity and carat. The signatures of President L(ewis) K Stubbs and Cashier V(incent) G Stubbs jump off the note. A truly mesmerizing piece, it is one of just eight large size reported, only one other of which has crossed the public auction block in the past twenty years. This true trophy note will be the center piece of the next collection it enters.
