Rare Rockville Centre Small Size - One of Three Reported

Rockville Centre, NY - $20 1929 Ty. 1 The First National Bank Ch. # 8872 PMG Very Fine 20.
A great note from this incredibly rare Nassau County bank, this piece will surely excite the many collectors of Long Island Nationals. It is one of just three small size reported from this short lived Nassau County bank and has been off the market since its last public appearance in our May 2001 auction. The First National opened its doors in 1907 and then was absorbed by a state chartered institution during the Depression in 1932. In addition to the three small size notes, a mere two large size are also reported. Tonight's offering is an evenly circulated $20 that exhibits just honest wear. It is also the first 1929 Series example from this tough charter to be publicly offered since 2009.
