Winter Haven, FL - $10 1902 Plain Back Fr. 630 The Snell
National Bank Ch. # (S)10379 PMG Choice Extremely Fine 45.A quite lovely note from the rarest of Winter Haven's four note-issuing banks, this is just the third piece to be reported from this charter. Bearing the bold pen signatures of cashier L.B. Anderson and president H.W. Snell, this pretty note becomes the finest example to surface from this rare private name bank that closed its doors in 1930. It features a vivid blue overprint and deep, original embossing. If not for some staple holes, it certainly would have received the EPQ designation from PMG. Five years ago, a $10 Date Back from this bank, in a PMG Very Fine 20 holder, sold for $8,400 at auction. This clearly superior piece should do a bit better.
