Description

Very Rare Shelley Note - First Public Offering Since 2008

Shelley, ID - $5 1902 Plain Back Fr. 606 The First National Bank Ch. # (P)11434 PMG Very Fine 25.
A great Idaho rarity, this piece hails from this Bingham County community's sole issuer, a bank that was only in business from its opening in 1919 until its failure in 1925. Not surprisingly, just four survivors are reported from this rare charter, none of which have made a public appearance since 2008. One of that quartet, this attractive $5 is crossing the auction block for the first time. It is a pleasing, pen-signed example with great color and traces of original embossing. This is a significant Idaho note that should be sought-after tonight.
